Hello Readers!

Hope you get to read this one in healthy and happy spirits! For sure, this one is going to leave you with a question mark in your amygdala (the part of your brain responsible for your Emotional Quotient), on what should be the essentials to be able to dream big!?!

And is everyone blessed enough and equally to be able to DREAM! Let’s hear it out from a younger yet wiser little human whom I proudly say “That’s My Daughter!”

Imagine a world without biases, with equality , empathy  and compassion for one and all! Seems pure idealism and a far from reality DREAM right?

But earlier this morning, this idealistic perception of mine, took a step closer to reality when I had the following conversation with my 6 year old daughter!

While I separated their books of the previous class to give it to needy children of same age who couldn’t buy them, my little (yet mature) six year old said, “Mom, why everytime we give our old books and story books to poor children?”. I simply answered, ” Because they also have dreams to study well and become educated and smart like you and be a good human when they grow up, and all that happens if they get to learn things from the books!”

She heard and paused for a while…I somehow felt she wanted to say something further on the subject, so I intrigued by asking her, “So, you feel happy giving these books to needy children to make their dreams come true right?”

She said, “Yes, Mamma, I feel really happy but these poor children can’t dream, how will their dreams come true  if they can’t dream?”

I was a little perplexed! I asked her back, “Who told you poor children can’t dream? They can equally dream just like us!”

She said, “No, they have to sleep on roadside, which is a hard base to sleep on, they don’t have mattresses and blankets like us, so they can’t sleep as comfortably as we do on our soft mattresses and comfortable beds. And if they don’t sleep comfortably, they can’t DREAM! So why don’t we give them beds 🛏️ and mattresses along the roadside first and then when they start dreaming, then give them books!!”📚

I WAS STARTLED!!😱 Such deep compassionate  thinking by a 6 year old and such reflective analysis of “being comfortable in sleep to be able to dream” is sure a positive sign of a bright future that dreams and promotes dreaming by others in a world where people are empathetic, compassionate, considerate, generous and most importantly Humans, before being anything else!

You must be wondering what did I say in return to her. I just smiled at her, gave her a warm hug 🤗 and said, “since we do not have spare mattresses as of now, we’ll buy some of them and blankets too, and give to the children who sleep along the roadside so they sleep well and dream big just like you!”

She was so excited to hear that from me and said, “Yes Mamma, and then we will give them these books 📚 and some toys also with which they will play and study like us and be happy like us. Mamma we can give them some Bournvita also to grow healthy and tall…….”

And the conversation went on and on, until I finally had to step out of the room for my Kitchen chores…

In the deepest core of my heart, I am still mesmerised with her thoughts and still wondering whether all our children who are going to be our future are thinking on the same lines 🤔

If yes, people, we are surely going to witness a better world of humanity a decade or two from now!!

Looking forward to a world more compassionate, less judgemental, more empathetic and less self-centred!
