Let’s keep it short!

Greetings Readers!

Hope this crisp and short post of mine engages you for long. Longer than the earlier Longreads!

I know how many of you actually read my What I said, What you heard” post right from the beginning till the end.

Absolutely NONE!😃I had kept a quest in that post somewhere near the end, and none of you managed to reply to it as you haven’t read that whole! (Unless you are too lethargic to answer the quest 😂)

I don’t know what you all could gather from that post, but I gathered from the response that the world today is fast paced and likes to “keep it short”!

Off late in the digital world, the voracious habit of reading in details and deep diving into concepts being talked about has somehow taken a back seat. We have got into a habit of seeing rather than reading, looking rather than watching and hearing rather than listening!

We don’t want stories, we want captions(it’s an INSTA world afterall). We don’t want text, we want pictures and GIFs instead! Without adding a sad emoji, no body would actually agree I am sad.😢 (I am actually not!)

Readers today love short reads or what I call as SCAN reads. Scan the pictures, read through the bolds and the italics, gather a complacent view of what is read(SCANNED) or simply judge the post with the pictures inserted in it.No time and patience for why it has been inserted there!

This is where I perceive, how today’s human beings are slowly becoming programmed rather than evolved!

We just want everything so quick! I assume some want it quicker even than the speed of light! Friends, PACE DOWN! They say LIFE IS SHORT, but isn’t shorter than you make it when you miss an important learning from a LONGREAD, when you lose a relationship just because you didn’t LISTEN it all till the end, when you drop your dreams, just because you didn’t HAVE THE PATIENCE to wait for the harvest!

We need to be SMART, no denying the fact, it’s the need of the hour! But friends SMART absolutely doesn’t mean SHORT!

When in an interview, Inan application form or any forum you are asked to describe yourself in ONE word, it does not mean that that is the only word to describe you, you choose the one that best relates to you! But unfortunately, the habit of “keeping it short” sometimes tends to restrict out perspectives of looking at things, people and situations to just a GLANCE instead of VISION!

Many of us would press the 👍 button without even without reading the FB or TWITTER post, some smart ones would even comment on it to make it look more authentic for reasons best known to them!

While I keep this one SHORT, I leave the rest of it for you to introspect and make it LONG with your inputs and comments on the “KEEP IT SHORT” world!

I don’t mind if your inputs are long, I am more of a LONGREAD person and do not perceive CONCEPTS out of CAPTIONS, I just need to develop that patience in my readers too!

Looking forward to hear from you all!

Not getting the feel though for signing out so early today…

Let me just post it as a dedication to my SHORTREAD friends whom I’d love to relocate on my LONGREADS LIST!Let the Words fall short but not the Read!

In anticipation 🙂
