Short of Time!

Hi! Hope all you readers are in the finest of spirits! It’s been a long while, but I hope you know I’d make it sure to be back again with another life lesson!

This post is dedicated to all those people out there who crib about falling short of time to spend with family!

We all are running in a Corporate race amidst notifications, pings, alerts, emails, messages, calls, stories and are driving around continuously in a virtual world, almost forgetting there’s a real world getting left behind…

I am on a 48 hr work schedule (which almost turns into 58 hrs effectively) fulfilling my work responsibilities upto the mark, I have elderly and young ones back home and I dedicatedly fulfill and take care of their needs to mine and their utmost satisfaction. I am pursuing MBA alongside and that too with utmost sincerity! (Have managed to top in the first and be in top 10 in the second sem). I read, write, sing, play and fuel my passions each second each day! ( Oh, that became rhythmic😊)

I make sure my kids study well, participate in all school activities and they have also managed to attain top ranks in school olympiads and extra curriculars! I am a proud mom to these 6 year olds!

I make sure I find time to talk to friends and family who are far yet near! Sending them personalized wishes (NOT TAKEN FROM GOOGLE) on birthdays and occasions.

After all this, when I hear from people around that “I don’t have time!”, seems unrealistic to me!

I am mentor to three mentees who chose me as a Skill Mentor for “Time Management” and “Work Life Balance” and I constantly tell them to reflect on what they do every minute of the available hours! I have less time too! But when I have an hour or a half or two, I make sure I make the most of them! Each second counts!

After long working hours, what actually do you do? Spend time relaxing on a couch watching TV? Or yelling over family and kids down delegating all work stress? Or simply ONLINE on social media!

Why not read a good book at that time? Why not pursue a hobby? Why not play Ludo/Chess/Scrabble with the kids? Why not take them out to dine? Why not sit and talk with your parents and ask them about the day, why not browse through the pages of your kid’s school books and notebooks? Why not go out for a walk with your spouse? Why not call up a friend, a cousin or your sibling to ask their well being? How long has it been since a family vacation?

Are you really too tired to do any of it?
No! It’s a MYTH! We have just enough time we need to make the most of it! There’s no FACT in the statement “I don’t find time!”

Cribbing about not having time, will not  find you time! Instead of victimizing yourself of being overworked or burnt out, squeeze each second of your available time to make the most of it, to change your lives for better! While you run the race of time, take time to pause, breathe and look back to see what’s getting left behind!

Afterall, none of us is going to stay unto eternity, our destination is the same, it’s the journey that’ll matter! So let’s make the most of it Strongly, Steadily, Happily and most importantly, TIMELY!

It’s TIME for me to sign off! Have a long day lined up😁

Wishing you all a good and fruitful TIME ahead👍

Yours Timely!

Shru!
