How Real is Reality?

Greetings Readers!

It’s been a long time since my last post on “I am Fine” and I hope in that context you and families are all FINE for REAL! But as I go ahead penning this one, I am still perplexed on defining what is REAL? Is it the bright day outside, or is it the gloom that many of us behold within? Is it the soothing breeze that relieves us from the scorching heat or is it the vacuum of being alone amidst the breeze? Sometimes, we really don’t know what’s REAL. And you know what? That SOMETIMES, is ALL THE TIME! I hope by now you’ve been able to grasp on what lies ahead in this post. Let’s peep into what’s going on for real. (It’s definitely not about virtual or augmented reality, sorry to disappoint my tech savvy readers out there!)😌

With my head bowed down to the SUPERPOWER who created us, the world, the Universe, and beyond, I am grateful and blessed to be a part of His Supreme most creation who has been empowered with a brain and a heart that help perceive, feel and express what we call as Reality. But do you think that what we think is real, is actually real?

It’s more scientific than we can imagine. Even I realized this recently while having a discussion on this topic with a Young Energetic Charismatic guy  who deep dived into the concept of REALITY and concluded that “Nothing” is Real for “Real” It’s just how we perceive it. I may perceive what I see as true, while the other person might know or perceive, it’s not. Whenever we hear the saying “The glass is half full/Half empty”, we generally relate it to Optimism or Pessimism, but another side of its inference could be the perception by a person in a particular state of mind. In this case, glass being half full or half empty both are real situations, the difference is just in our perception. Many a time we tend to get overwhelmed or absorbed by the situations and happenings around us considering them for REAL and FOREVER, whereas the truth is what seems real to us today might never be a reality again! That’s why dreams, hallucination, déjà vu exist! What’s real for me, might not be real for you, so if we understand this right away, we tend to act more maturely and in a less obsessed manner. We will have the capability to step into someone else’s shoes and experience the difference between perception and reality (which is actually not real). Everything, mind it, every single thing around and within us is being governed by a SUPERPOWER name it God or The Big Bang Theory. Situations and people are just pawns in the game whose rules are set by someone or something else whom we unfortunately do not know for real.

The point is, whether we wake up to a bright sunny morning or a cold misty day, it’s just a matter of perception. We tend to stick on to what we think and perceive as real, however, it is not. We tend to bind ourselves in the shackles of reality which actually does not exist.

This morning while answering a question “Do you know what day you were born” , my 5 year old daughter answered “Sunday” and she came running to me in the kitchen saying that “Mamma, do you know why we were born on Sunday?, kyonki sunday ko aapki chutti hoti hai!(It’s your weekly off on Sundays!). I was both astonished and speechless. That’s where the difference between perception and reality lies. She actually thinks that the reason for them (herself and her twin sister) to be born on Sunday was because it was my off from work and that’s absolutely right. It is my off on Sunday and that they were born on Sunday, I just didn’t perceive it the way my little one did. Of course she is not mature enough to understand the BIG DEAL it was for me, but still SMART ENOUGH to judge what could be real.

Right from the day we are born, we are subject to situations that we perceive as reality and slowly it all keeps fading away. What wasn’t a reality for our parents, is a reality for us and might be something else for the coming generations. Not only generations, it varies for each responsive being.

Believe it or not, whatever happens is said to be Destined, and if DESTINY is real, rest all is just a fantasy! The other day I heard from one of my colleagues who is struggling die hard to find himself a marriage match since like QUITE LOOOOOOONGGGG, when he said “Theek hai, jab fate mein hoga, tbi hoga” (When in fate, it will happen!) I strongly connected to this statement of his as this very day, my own brother was simply DESTINED to get married. It was the day last year when the monstrous pandemic was gobbling up lives all over the world, the day our country registered peak high no. of serious pandemic victims, that very day with SOME SUPERNATURAL POWER backing us up, that we could get these two tie the auspicious knot not with fear of life and belief in the rituals (which were planned to happen elsewhere than where they actually did). A few weeks prior to this day, we had thought his marriage was going to happen for real, but that day, just his marriage wasn’t a reality, all those 17 attendees including the bride and the groom, being there and getting back uninfected was a bigger reality. That’s how things change, that’s how realities change! Like just now, if I ask you, my fond readers to type in the comment box, the no. of times I have used the word REAL in this post, I might end up knowing my no. of actual readers for REAL! (Lesser no. doesn’t demotivate me anyway, I’d still be there with a new quest again!)

So when we say “Be Real”, there’s actually nothing that lies in being real. If I be real today, I may be unreal or surreal tomorrow. So let’s free ourselves from the shackles of fixing realities. Let’s strengthen our beliefs, our perceptions, our values, our conscience so much so that we face any and every situation with open minds and free hearts. The freer we let go of ourselves, the more we get connected to what we all call REALITY! Let’s not impose the reality version in our thoughts and feelings, set them free and let them discover WHAT’S NEXT!

It isn’t for a blog, it might actually be explained in some science fables, but that too I’m still not sure exists for REAL…
